Europe: (Which) Growth Wanted?
The Ukraine war has fueled inflation and led to downward revisions of growth prospects in Europe. Recession might be just around the corner in 2023. However, the root causes of low growth in Europe go well beyond the war and are mainly due to an increasingly fragmented world. New and old barriers are putting to test the EU growth model with globalisation at its core. Is the EU fit for the challenges of today's and tomorrow's world economy? Which new and sustainable growth model is needed? From energy, to trade and investment, what are the new engines for a revived EU growth?
